The bulletin has widened its coverage in the recent years to include research papers on various parts of the world.

The scope of research work covered by the bulletin includes stratigraphy, paleontology, sedimentology, structure geology, geotectonics, geomorphology, GIS and remote sensing, geomatics and geoinformatics, geophysics, seismology, hydrogeology, petrology, petroleum geology, mineralogy, geochemistry, medical geology, engineering geology, geological hazards, natural resources management, environmental geology, economic geology, and mining geology.

An address from the Editor-in-Chief

Dear Colleagues, On behalf of the Editorial Board, I am pleased to introduce the Iraqi Bulletin of Geology and Mining (IBGM). The IBGM is devoted to all aspects of research related to geosciences. The Journal publishes peer-reviewed scientific papers on different fields of geology, such as stratigraphy, paleontology, sedimentology, structure and tectonics, geomorphology, geophysics, hydrogeology, petrology and mineralogy, geochemistry, engineering geology, geological hazards, environmental geology, mineral resources, mineral processing, and mining geology. It is widely understood that the need of the research geologists in Iraq and the neighboring countries for high-standard publishing platform is paramount. As such, the Bulletin, since its foundation in 2005, has made its main objective to encourage research and publications on geology-related sciences in such a way as to improve and develop the local and regional geological knowledge. It is hoped that, with our pens and minds, we can contribute to the welfare of our tomorrow.
